Check Scanner Troubleshooting

This tutorial is for property managers who utilize our check scanning product. If you are trying to scan checks and your check scanner won't turn on, follow these steps.

 

Step 1 - Shut Off Your Check Scanner

a. On the back of your check scanner, remove the power plug.

b. Also remove the usb cord.

c. Sign out of your Smart Housing account.

 

Step 2 - Setup Your Ranger Remote Icon

a. Click on the start menu in the bottom, left-hand side of your screen.

b. Search for and click on Ranger Remote.

       Note -  The Ranger Remote icon will now show up next to your icon finder. It has been added for you to use again.

d. Click on your triangular icon finder in the bottom, right-hand side of your screen.

e. Search for the Ranger Remote icon. Click on it.

f. A box of options will pull up. Click on 'Start Server.'

 Step 3 - Restart Your Check Scanner

a. Plug your power cord back into your check scanner.

b. Also plug in the usb cable.

c. Sign into your Smart Housing account and proceed to scan checks.
