Creating a Household

Do you want to be able to have all the members of a family listed together on a profile?
Do you have a unit that is paid for by more than one resident?
Do you have a property, like student housing, where residents are moving in and out but not necessarily all together?

If any of these situations match what you deal with as a landlord, that is what creating Households is for.

Step 1 - Setup a resident profile. You will only need to setup one of the residents with these steps.

Step 2 - On the resident's profile page, go to the right-hand side and find the box titled Household. Click on 'Add.'

Step 3 - A small box will pull up. Type in the first and last name of another resident who will be living in the same unit. Click on 'Save Changes.'

Step 4 - You will see the new resident show up in the Household box. Continue to use the 'Add' button to add the rest of the residents who will be living in that unit.

By using the Household box to add in residents, you have done two things-

  1. Each time you added a resident, their own profile page was generated for them. You can find residents in the same household by clicking on their name in the Household box, using the People Search box on the Dashboard page, or finding them listed under the 'Residents' tab. sign up 3-b.PNG            household 3.PNG
  2. You have joined all members of the same household to the same ledger. This means that they receive the same invoice for the unit and when any of the residents pay, all the payments are listed on the same ledger. So if both my residents Rita and Gary paid rent, I will see both of those payments on the Household Ledger, no matter whose profile page I am looking at.
