Screening-omancy

Fortune telling is a big business here in America. People use it to know their future, to help make decisions, or to tell them what to do in general. Movies tell stories about fortune telling, you can buy a toy like the Magic 8 Ball that will act as a diviner... The practice is everywhere whether we believe in it or not.

It’s nice to have help to make decisions. Wouldn’t it be great if landlords could just look into a magic crystal ball to help them know which prospective tenant they should choose to be their new resident?

You can be your own fortune teller, in a way. This is possible with screening-omancy (aka resident screening and background checks) which combines several other divination practices to help you make business decisions. And you can feel even more assured since your divinations will all be backed by data.

First off you can use cartomancy. The way people use their credit cards and manage credit accounts is a good indication of how reliably they will pay their rent as renters. Divine their credit score or use our Smart Score to help see the future.

You can use bibliomancy and check the public records. When you run a background check, screening services research criminal records, evictions, sex offender registries, and terrorist records to see what type of past the applicant has that you may want to be aware of.

There is also the four pillars of destiny which uses the hour, day, month, and year of birth. Determine that they are who they say they are by checking their birthdate and verifying their social security number.

Last is numerology, an art that may not be as interesting as the others but is extremely important. Knowing the numbers, such as income and the debt load to income ratio, will rule out potential residents who may have a hard time paying their rent along with all of their other bills.

Magic is not foolproof, and neither are background checks and screenings, but it does help to have as much useful information as possible when making decisions. A divination like screening-omancy will do just that for you as a landlord.
