When I shop on Amazon, I can use my credit card to pay for a new pair of boots, a used textbook, and a replacement for my broken controller. Different items all paid with one card in a quick and efficient way so they don’t lose my business.

At Smart Housing, that’s exactly the idea behind the in-office card reader.

Case Study #1 - Jennifer got off of work early so that she could come into the office to pay her rent before she owes a late fee. She ran out of checks a week ago and only has a debit card to pay. If you have the in-office card reader, you can run her card through and apply the payment to her resident account and print off a receipt to show that she has paid.

Case Study #2 - Michael visited the property to tour an open unit and ask questions about rent and amenities and the lease. He is interested in the unit and filled out an application for tenancy right then and there, but he only has a credit card to pay the application fee. The in-office card reader lets you collect application fees immediately so that you can run a tenant background check as soon as possible.

Case Study #3 - Michael has been approved to rent the open unit and you call to let him know that he can come in and sign a rental lease agreement and pay his deposit. He comes in the next morning to sign the paperwork and lets you know that he never uses checks, he doesn’t even know how to fill one out. That’s fine. You just run his credit card through the in-office card reader again to pay for the deposit.

Case Study #4 - Rebecca broke a window and is going to have to pay to have it replaced. She knows the money won’t be there if she pays for the broken window with her rent in two weeks so asks if she can come into the office to pay now with a credit card. With the in-office card reader installed, you can tell her this won’t be a problem.

Different reasons for payment, all using one in-office card reader in a quick and efficient way to make your business better.
